Abstract

This research aims to explain the main ideas of one of the leading political philosophers, John Locke. This paper will briefly explain Locke's main ideas about Rights and the state. Starting by presenting his works and life history, his views on humans, the state of nature of the formation of a state. Specifically and in depth, it will explain the importance of the state and how to maintain and limit state power with the constitution. In addition, it will also discuss the relationship between the state and human rights. In the final section, the author tries to see the relevance and implications of Locke's views in Indonesia.
